• Natasha is a first-generation immigrant who moved from Bangladesh to the United States at the age of five. She learned English as an ESL/ELL student and is fluent in both Bengali and English. These days, she’s also working on improving her Spanish.
• Having lived in five states and attended nine different schools, Natasha considers herself an expert at being the new girl.
• Before becoming a full-time author-illustrator, Natasha spent more than a decade in social media marketing. She launched social media and community programs for brands including ModCloth, JustFab, Fabletics, and ShoeDazzle.
• As a child, a guidance counselor told Natasha that she would never be as strong in English as she was in math because English was her second language. Fortunately, she only listened to adults about half the time. Once she learned how to put sentences together, she never stopped writing.
• Sharing her culture, heritage, and faith as part of the American story is deeply important to Natasha. She also shares her experiences as a Muslim mom through her blog, IslamiMommy.
• Natasha believes that if you can laugh at yourself, you’ll probably get along just fine.
Books are her happy place…
