Then and Now: The Pitt News

THEN & NOW! 20+ years ago, I wrote an opinion column for The Pitt News, my college newspaper. Sharing my stories was a highlight of my college experience.

Today’s story about Moon’s Ramadan and my author-illustrator journey

Seeing myself in The Pitt News again is a sweet moment. You can read the full article here.

I had a Zoom interview with Nada Abdulaziz, the student staff reporter, and learned she was ALSO an ESL student and immigrated to the U.S. (from Iraq) at the age of 10. I have so much hope for her generation. The future is in good hands. 💜

One of my opinion columns from 2002 talking about Islam
